Connecting your business:

You can access the system via any broadband connection, in the office, at home, coffee shop, airport or 3G mobile broadband.  Any PC or laptop can be used, either Windows, Mac or Linux.  For the best connection we recommend a private MPLS circuit, same broadband technology, but private (dedicated connection between you and us),  so there is less latency (faster) and allows us the ability resolve connection issues.

Cost efficient hardware:

Because you access the system via Onebyte Central servers you don't need new and expensive hardware. You can even use your most outdated PCs and laptops, extending the life of any investment you have already made. If you do require new hardware we recommend using 'thin clients', a low cost alternative to standard PC's, and more than adequate to deliver this system.

How it works:

We custom build you a new server using HP hardware and Microsoft Windows 2008 together with their suite of office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access. It can also host any windows based 3rd party applications specific to your business. We also have a Microsoft SQL edition which if needed can be used to drive larger shared database applications.

Email and sharing files:

Each user log-on comes with a Microsoft Exchange email account with 1GB of email storage which we find covers most business needs (additional storage is available). Exchange email combined with Outlook means you can share your public folders, contacts, calendar, email and to-do list throughout your company, unlike the POP3 email or webmail which is more commonly used but doesn't allow shared access.

Working on the move, in the office or at home:

We use Microsoft Active Sync which means all this is ready to connect to your Windows compatible mobile phone or iPhone to let you have full access to your business data even while on the move.  

We also run a Blackberry BES server, which allows full synchronisation to all your Outlook data, unlike Blackberry BIS.  With Blackberry the compression is much higher than Active Sync so you won't use up your bandwidth.  BES is perfect if you have are a heavy user of email on the move, and is the market leader.  Blackberry Server incurs a small extra monthly charge in addition to our standard package.

This is where hosted desktop systems really come into their own.

We know it stacks up very favourably when compared to a new on-site system and even more so compared to a multi-site set-up, but we also know it will perform better, it's very secure, highly scalable, can be connected to from anywhere and extras can be added if required such as an SQL server or Blackberry BES if required all for a manageable monthly fee.
